EXCESS BAGGAGE
Can Lostwithiel go plastic bag free?
January 25th, 7pm, Church Rooms
We had a very successful evening to raise awareness about the problems of waste in general and plastics in particular.
To start the evening we screened the BBC Natural World documentary "Hawai'i -Message in the Waves". This 50 minute film highlights the environmental damage that plastics are causing to the rich and diverse ecosystems of Hawaii.
This was followed by a talk by Richard Bower MBE which inspired a lively discussion afterwards. There was considerable support for Lostwithiel going plastic bag free in the same way that Modbury in Devon did last year, which is something we will certainly be following up.
