AUTUMN FILM FESTIVAL

Many thanks to all who came and supported our film festival. We had a great turnout each night and some good discussion. We even had a climate change/peak oil pub quiz after the film on the third night. The three films that were shown highlighted three main points: Climate change, peak oil and the power of community. The films were:

An Inconvenient Truth by Al Gore

Energy Crossroads: A burning need to change course

The Power of Community: How Cuba survived Peak Oil

These will be shown again in the future. In the meantime An Inconvenient Truth is in Lostwithiel library, and we are working on public access to the other two.

The film screenings have also raised awareness for the new Lostwithiel Film Society. In a town with no cinema, this has excited a lot of people. Details will be added as things progress, but rest assured Transition Lostwithiel will be in full support of this relocalisation of the arts.
