Lostwithiel Rug Hookers
Long Room, Community Centre, every Tuesday 10.00am to 12.30pm.
We are a cheerful, friendly and supportive group; we chat and make wall-hangings, rugs, cushions etc. from discarded fabric such as old wool jumpers, skirts, fleece. We use traditional tools onto hessian backing. These tools are either for prodding or hooking (not to be confused with latch-hooking). We have tools and equipment that you can try out before buying. We also have a lot of books to browse through to get ideas. You will soon be able to make an item using family cast-offs. If you have any old felted wool jumpers, tweed skirts or fleece please bring them in.
The cost is £2.00 per session plus donations for refreshments. As a non-profit group we donate surplus funds to various charities. We also arrange some social events and outings and participate each Spring in the annual craft-fair in Marazion. Do pop in and see us.
